Shri. N Srinivasan (Nuclear Scientist) writes,

A Lucid and fearless exposition of Yuga concept

Yuganta is an easy read book, one can finish it in a couple of sittings. The book caters to uninitiated but interested in the topic and also those already holding on to views of some traditions of yuga. The author is fearless in his analysis of kali yuga. The author uses Nilesh Oak’s matrix representation in his taxonomy of yuga. Exploration of yuga and its various representations make the book comprehensive.

His findings among plethora of explanations in vogue time immemorial, makes it unique and stand out.

The author quotes Kena Upanishad reminding me of Bertrand Russell who says ‘If you’re certain, you are certainly wrong….’

The book surveys various puranic texts catering to people holding on to different yuga belief systems.
The author has taken the most difficult task of filtering out useful information and to distill the truth from among different accounts of ancient texts. Trying to figure out the time scale and to map it with chronology is an arduous task, which the author has carried out with ease.

Any explanation of kali involves Sri Krishna, the author judiciously uses the original Mahabharata text of VyasDev. The author has to take this route as there is no consistent interpretation (sometimes conflicting) of yuga from other traditional sources. The author must be lauded for his efforts in ‘separating grain from stalks’ and presenting a convincing theory of yuga for us to understand. I wonder how at this young age the author can manage it.

The author concludes that the dating of kali yuga depends on Mahabharata and dating of Mahabharata does not depend on the dating of kali.

Smt. Manjula Tekal (Author, Translator & Editor) writes,

A new insight for the beginning of Kali Yuga

Yuganta is Jeevan Rao’s first book, but it reads like the work of a veteran author. This book is an outcome of a wide research of Mahabharata, Harivamsha, and the Puranas. Jeevan has also critically studied the works of several authors who have written about Kaliyuga, including Bhaskara. He also examines Yugapurana, Surya Siddhanta, Aryabhatiya, the Aihole inscription and the writings of Yukteswar Giri, and analyses how their conclusions diverge from his own. The book is written in an easy style that reports and chronicles the steps he has taken to arrive at his conclusion. He has several tables and pictorial representations of his conclusions that make the book easy to comprehend.

The book focuses on a very tricky and pertinent question in Indic research and closely reasons it out based on the internal evidence of the Mahabharata text. A book that every thoughtful reader of Mahabharata must read!

Dr. Jessie J. Mercay (Architect, Researcher) writes,

Historical Revalations of consequence

This is a deeply researched text that examines the very important date of Kaliyuga. The beginning date of Kali yuga is a keystone date that has been used for setting Indian chronology. It is important in that it defines a specific period in world history.

There hss been a lot of speculation about the date of Kali yugas beginning by various scholars. Apparently they are wrong and this young scholar is correct.

“This book not only answers the questions about the beginning of Kali Yuga but goes a step further and showcases the implications the beginning of Kali Yuga has on the dating of the Mahabharata War. The contents of the book has the potential to change the way, we had understood the link between Kali Yuga and the Mahabharata War.” Nilish Oak.

The author approaches this study from many angles and uses a scientific, factual method of determining his proposed date. The author offers indisputable evidence for the start of this yuga and his research method is creative, complete, and extremely interesting.

Smt. Rupa Bhaty (Indic researcher) writes,

Crisp & clear content and a fantastic book to read

Holding the book by one of the youngest researcher is extremely satisfying…the inquisitiveness led me to quickly read the whole book in a day. This is how the approach should be- unbiased and rational. Kudos to
author Jeevan Rao. Congratulations to you.

Shri. Ajay Sinha (an early reader) writes,

Excellent work.

Clear and precise. Debunks a lot of theories. Compares competing theories too. Well worth the money. Brilliant work from a young chap.
